Well my tech problems have given me an enforced period of being unable to work on the project, but has given me an opportunity to reflect on what work has been done so far and what still needs to be done.
As far as the original plan goes, I have had to make some changes along the way, so my original intention to produce a compilation album as a way of getting to work with other artists has had to be modified so that I will now be putting together an album using more material that I havge actually played on and less that has been recorded specifically for this project.
It’s still been an interesting exercise so far. I have a number of pretty awful recordings of some jams with my own band, which were crying out to be spruced up and turned into something, and I think these will form about half of the finished project.
Additionally I have a number of other songs that I have been working on myself, and I now have an incentive to get them finished. I also have scaled back my plans to work with other musicians, due to the difficulties in access to the recording studio, but I fortuantely have two very capable musicians under the same roof, so step forward Lily and Tom Wakely, who will be adding vocals and guitar parts respectively!
